Favourite SNES game
Very tough to choose, so many contenders. It could have been one of the platformers (either Super Mario World, or Yoshi's Island)... ...but in the end I have to go for The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past Superb plot, clever mechanic of switching between the Light & Dark Worlds, a huge area to explore and so many things to find. Graphics are very good with cute touches, and the music backs it all up.

Super Mario World, first game I got with my SNES is still the grea-*test*-('"). Just in the process of getting myself a Super Famicom to play R-Type III on.

That's a toughie, one of these: The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past Super Mario World Super Metroid

I have to lean towards F-Zero. It was one of the first driving games that provided an elevated sense of speed and deeper 3D space. Mode-7 reset the bar for racers.

My favorite is, by a small margin, A Link To The Past. That game is epic. Not long behind is Super Mario World, followed by Super Mario 3. All three games mentioned have had substantial replay value to me, even to this day.

I just got R-Type III for my Famicom this morning. Looking forward to playing it.

I'm going to try modding my PAL SNES to play at 60Hz, then I can go back and enjoy all the PAL titles I have. I could go a full game of Super Mario World as I haven't touched it in years. Super Punch Out is great too.

As much as I wanted to love Super Mario World I never quite *got* it. There was a lot of great games but for sheer amount of my life it took it would have to be Zelda - Link to the Past. It was just so immersive and enjoyable. Always thought Pilot Wings was great and hasnt been surpassed even now. And of course who can forget Mario Kart. You did say one though.

I'm with qix on this one . . .one of the first and still one of the best IMHO - F Zero. Prefer it to Super Mario Kart (sacrilege, I know :!: ) R-Type III, already mentioned, would be my second choice and THEN, maybe, SMK . . .picking up the bronze medal  Favourite under-rated game would be Super Aleste . . .I forget the westernised name for it offhand.

I had a PAL Super Aleste back in the day and I'm going to treat myself to a Jap copy soon. Contra Spirits (Super Probotector) is also very entertaining; it's another game I had a PAL copy of and now own the Japanese version.

I'd say Earthbound.

Contra Spirits (Super Probotector) is also very entertaining; it's another game I had a PAL copy of and now own the Japanese version. Had a guy near me import Japanese SNES games in the early days . . .I remember seeing a copy of Contra Spirits when it came in and, if memory serves, it was about 60 quid . . . . . .and people moan about game prices these days . . .

Super Street Fighter II for the SNES was £70 on import back then!

Super Street Fighter II for the SNES was £70 on import back then!I think I paid around that for the original US SFII, and I had to buy an adaptor to play it on my PAL machine. Well worth it though.
