Space Harrier
When Space Harrier hit the arcade it immediately became my next game addiction. Though it didn't have the intensity of Tempest or Millipede or Defender, I got hooked on the funky stand-up hydraulic controls and pseudo 3D. It is still one of my faves to play on my 40" LCD for a quick shot of game adrenaline. Though there have been a few clone games like Panorama Cotton over the years, I'm surprised that Sega didn't milk this franchise a little harder.

I play my Space Harrier on the Dreamcast as I got the GameWorks book version. One of my favorite arcade games evah. I think the DC controller suits it a bit better than playing it on the Saturn.

It is actually Space Harrier II on the 32X that I play. There was a weaker port available of this game for Genesis, which I had before the 32X version.

I still need to get a 32X sometime. I need one that goes with a modded Asian MD. Don't know much about them yet; but there are a few interesting games for it.

The 32X port was of the original Space Harrier. It was quite good but at times ran at 30 fps instead of 60 fps. Space Harrier 2 was one of the first Genesis/Megadrive games. It didn't add much to the formula but you could select which stage you could start on at the beginning, though you had to go through each stage to beat the game.

Don't know if you agree, but I thought the 32X was overly and unfairly criticised - given the decent games it did have. I thought most of the shooters were fairly playable and stuff like Tempo looked a step up.
