This and That. I think I pretty much like every old Arcade game pre 2000. I find newer games are mainly built around sucking coins out of you're pocket. Dont get me wrong old games would suck coins too, but they were based on HighScores and who can get the top score. Where as newer games is about inserting a coin to continue to the next level.
I currently own an Up-Right which originally had X-Men Children of the Atom, and later was converted into Street Fighter II - Alpha via a Kit. I wanted to revert the arcade back to its original X-Men state so I managed to hunt down the Side Art, Marquee and B-Board (Capcom System). Unfortunately I've been traveling a lot for the past 5 years so I'm not sure if the boards are dead or not.
For those not familiar, the Capcom Game system consisted of the main board (A) and a game Cartridge (B) which allowed you to easily plug/unplug multiple games, but Capcom decided to throw in a twist in there, which is the XOR (Encryption Table) is stored on a chip powered by a 6v Battery. When this battery eventually dies (5 years) the XOR Table is lost so the game wont function. So my games could already be dead.
The game will eventually house M.A.M.E (Multi Arcade Machine Emulator), however without sounding preachy, I'd like to spread the word that a Classic Cabinet can be converted without permanently destroying it. I've seen many arcade projects where the classic arcade is painted over and gutted and other horrible things. People need to realize these games are not being produced anymore... Galaga, PacMan just to name a couple are over 20 years old. We can all help preserve these games without destroying them.
If I had the space, I would get dedicated machines, but since I dont. I will just have the one Cabinet with multiple games inside via emulation.
Thats all for now. :)

MAME is awfully popular. Me? It's the original boards or nothing.
You could always get your CPSII boards Phoenixed:

Razoola has done a few for me.

Im still amazed at the amount of original cabs some people have - I had my own cab once...home build - now it resides in pieces in a council dump somewhere :(

I have an original Out Run upright. Nice; but very impractical.

Alright Subby ya old git!!
Reckon I might just hang about here. It'll be nice to have a forum for pure Retro nonsense and none of the pretentious shit of some other forums..
Anyway, thought I'd just kick off my post count with a glorious picture of my soon to be (Sunday to be exact) Mame cab. I personally can't wait!

I'll vouch for that - Raz is a good guy and knows his stuff.
I've repaired hundreds (perhaps thousands!) of old arcade game boards over the past few years and whenever I come across a CPS2 set with a suicided battery it's off to Raz for a replacement set.
Recommended.

Mamey - love the cab. Nice and compact. Any ideas what it looks like inside?

Cool... I had heard about Razoola before, but the information that I got regarding if he could revive or not were dodgy.
I will contact him if my boards are dead... otherwise it will be a matter of changing a battery if they are still alive.
On the other hand its probably worth just getting them fixed so you dont need a battery.

Hope its got decent bits inside it mamey m8

The spec it has to be said isnt exactly a power house but I aint buying it for the pc bit. Its all the work thats gone into the actual cab itself. Upgrading a pc is dirt cheap nowadays so its not an issue.

Was lucky enough to win a JAMMA cab in a raffle, only have one PCB at the moment.
